Venice remains a special place to those of us who lived there. We certainly knew most of the people in our neighborhood. It seems that we all somehow touched one another, either directly or indirectly. A smile, a kind word, or a friendship became a part of us and made us who we are. When we hear someone from Venice has passed on we feel a loss. Memories may prompt a tear. But then we smile as we think of good times. Bobby is especially remembered by some of his classmates from Venice High School Class of 1955. He will be remembered at out Annual Venice History Committee Memorial Mass to be held on Sunday September 13, 2015 at St. Mark Church, Venice, IL at the 9 am Mass. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Heather and family I sincerely wish to express my sorrow in hearing the surprise passing of Bobby, I did not serve with him but met him at several ships reunions. He made me proud to know him. A very friendly personality. God bless you all.

Sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. I did not know him well - we did not serve on the Gatling at the same time. However, at two different reunions, I shared a lot of conversation with him - and I thought I got to know him fairly well. I found very friendly and easy to be with.
