William M Kirby

 

William M. Kirby, 63, died March 9, 2022 at Miriam Hospital. Bill, the son of Maxfield and Gloria Kirby was a lifelong Barrington resident. He graduated from Barrington High School in 1977 and from the University of Rhode Island in 1981. He was a good brother and a dear friend to many.

Bill is survived by his two sisters, Alison Fagundes of Barrington and Sue Hirst of West Kingston as well as nieces Meghan Schmidt of Maryland and Katharine Psaras of Middletown and two grandnieces and one grandnephew. His beloved friends, always considered family, Russell and Debra Wessner and their children Andrew, Leah, and Matt also mourn his death and celebrate his life.

Bill was a kind and compassionate man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures - dog walks, a good cup of coffee, a beautiful summer day, an interesting conversation with dear friends. An avid sports fan, he relished the glory and endured the despair of the Red Sox, the Patriots, the 

Bruins, and the Celtics.

In his most recent years, Bill persevered through challenges of declining health with patience and courage. The compassionate care he received at the Dialysis Center of East Providence over many years was a great comfort to him.
