SHIRLEY, GIBSON (PONT)

96, passed away on October 17, 2021.  She was the wife of the late Donald E. Gibson for 64 years.
Born in Riverside, she was the daughter of the late John and Yarda (Lindblom) Pont.  Shirley resided in Warwick for the past 12 years, previously resided in Taunton, Massachusetts.
She dedicated her life to her family that she loved so much.  Shirley enjoyed cooking, oil painting, playing the piano and sewing.  She also was a Journalist for the Taunton Gazette.  She was a former member of West Congregational Church in Riverside and a former member of the Abbott Singers in Providence, RI and as a graduate of East Providence High School she was a member of the class reunion committee.  She was a member of Signet Chapter #21, O.E.S.also Pioneer Lodge #506, VASA Order of America.
 
She is survived by her daughter Donna Lee (Gibson) Svensson of Warwick.  Her granddaughter, Heidi (Burke) Cianfarani and husband Gregory of East Greenwich, RI.  Her two great-granddaughters Alexandra (Lexi) and Lindsay.
 
Life celebration to be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 beginning with visiting hours at 9:00 a.m..  A service at 10:00a.m. at SMITH-MASON FUNERAL HOME, 398 Willett Ave., Riverside, RI with a burial to follow at Little Neck Cemetery.
