Phyllis (Bicknell) Huddleston, 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Huddleston, for 56 years. She was a devoted mother to Linda (Jim) McCann, Susan (Phil) Thow, Doris Huddleston and Dana (Christine) Huddleston. She is survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was born in Weymouth, MA, on February 6, 1926. She was the daughter of the late George and Doris Bicknell and sister of the late Verna Dupree. Phyllis graduated from Abington High School on June 6, 1944. Upon completing high school she trained to become a dental assistant and worked in that field for the next 6 years. She loved baking for others and was an avid Red Sox Fan.
Phyllis was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church, Whitman, MA and attended Barrington Baptist Church, Barrington, RI. She was a kind and loving person to all who knew her. Phyllis will be remembered as a woman who loved the Lord, had a contagious smile and was a dedicated prayer warrior.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the many staff at HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care of Rhode Island for their exceptional and compassionate care for Phyllis which enabled her to remain at home. We are all profoundly grateful for their care and support.
A celebration of Phyllis’ life will be held on November 4, 2023, at Barrington Baptist Church, 25 Old County Road, Barrington, RI at 1:30 PM. A private burial will be held at the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater, MA.
