Paul Valentine Obituary

Paul Valentine, 89, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2022. He was the son of the
late Harry and Muriel Valentine and the beloved husband of the late Esperanza (Sita)
Valentine for 59 years. He was born in Providence, RI, on July 12, 1933. Paul attended
St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket and graduated from Providence College in 1956, and
he then served in the US Army. Paul married Sita in 1960 and raised their four children in
East Providence and Barrington. They moved to Newport in 1989 and enjoyed living by
the sea. He loved the beaches, parties, dining out, music and playing golf. Paul retired as
President of Heveatex Corporation after a long career in the chemical industry.

A caring and understanding man, he loved to help people and guide them along the way.
He always took an interest in everyone he met. He was quick to make a joke and wanted
people to laugh. He cherished his connections with people and had lifelong friendships.
Paul was an avid storyteller known for his humorous tales, and somehow new stories
emerged even in his final weeks. Paul was the best father anyone could ever ask for. He
was also a very loving grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Paul leaves behind four children. His son Mark and wife Diane of Newport, daughter Lisa
of Middletown, son Michael and partner Becky of Middletown, and son Steve and wife
Leah of Barrington. Paul also leaves his five beloved grandchildren, Jack, Luke, Anna,
Owen, and Ryan, as well as two nieces and four nephews.
