Marion A. (Doughty) Smith

Marion A. Smith (Doughty) 97, Of Riverside R.I. passed away at HopeHealth Hospice. She was the wife of the late Dexter W. Smith. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Royal F.D. and Mary (McConnell) Doughty. Marion was and amazing woman, sister, wife, mother, and GG. A member of the second Baptist Church in East Providence and of the First Baptist of Swansea, MA.. She accomplished all she put her mind to. She was a Nursery teacher at Carding Court in Trinity square, a switchboard operator at Brown University, and a secretary at Riverside Middle School. In her free time Marion enjoyed crocheting, swimming, singing and spending time with her friends and Family.

Marion is survived by her son David H. Smith and his wife Linda, a daughter Carrie (Smith) Callemme and her husband Paul, siblings Gloria I. Doughty, and Royal E. Doughty (Carole), grandchildren Lance E. Smith and wife Barbara , Jason P. Smith and wife Diana, Adam D. Cellemme and wife Laurel, Mathew J. Cellemme and wife Monique, Michael P. Cellemme, Niece’s Susan Stewart, Kathy Bamford, Heather Poublon, and 11 great grandchildren and 10 great- great grandchildren. Marion was also the sister of the late Edythe (doughty) Stewart.

Interment will be private at Veterans Memorial Cemetery Exeter, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church, 21 Baptist Street, Swansae, MA. 02771 in Marion's Memory.
