John T. Turn

John Tallman Turn of Riverside, RI and formerly of Barrington, 56, died unexpectedly on March 15, 2020. John was born November 27, 1963 in Framingham , Massachusetts to Kenneth E. Turn, Jr. and the late Joyce A. Turn. He is survived by his father Kenneth E. Turn, Jr of Riverside, formerly of Barrington, his sister, 
Laure (Christopher) Mulrooney and his nieces Erin Rose and Katie Joyce Mulrooney, of Tallahassee, FL, his brother, Kenneth E.(Raequel) Turn III ,his niece Kelsie K. Turn and his nephew Connor J. Turn, of Bennington, VT and a loving network of extended family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce A. Turn and his maternal grandmother Rose Kaechele and his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Bessie Turn.
John graduated from Barrington High School and Rhode Island College. In his younger years, John was a pitcher for several Barrington Little League teams and enjoyed ice hockey and tennis. He was an avid sports and entertainment fan rooting for the Boston Red Sox, the New York Rangers, the New England Patriots, the ECW and the WWE. He was an active member of the Cranston Street Hockey League for over 30 years and viewed the members of this league as his close friends and family. In recent years, John was manager for Blockbuster Video in Seekonk and Attleboro and using his people skills, he developed long lasting relationships with customers and friends. One of John’s life goals was to be a stand up comic. His dry and sarcastic wit served him well in laughing at himself and others every day.
John was best known as a Batman memorabilia collector and entrepreneur and over 50 years had gathered an extensive collection of Batman, other collectibles, and comic books. One of his favorite things to do was to help his friend Mike with collectible shows. John loved music, movies and the latest technology gadget and had amassed quite a collection. He also loved his furry friend Ziggy and his furry niece Clarabelle. John had a gruff exterior at times but had a soft heart for family, friends and animals. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial for John which will take place on August 1, 2020 at 10:00 am at Holy Angels Church, 341 Maple Avenue, Barrington, R.I. with a collation at Bluewater Grill, 32 Barton Avenue, Barrington, R.I. immediately following.
