Dorothy “Dottie” (D’Allesandro) Boudreau passed away peacefully at home on September 24th surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Barrington. Dottie was the daughter of the late Michael and Carrie D’Allesandro of Barrington and the sister of Michael D’Allesandro, Anna Lombardi and Judy Silvia, who preceded her in death. She leaves behind her loving children; Jean Pezzullo and husband John, Laurie Hornby and husband Robert, Bobbie Henderson and husband Jim, and the late Robert Boudreau and wife Kathryn. Dottie was also an amazing “Nannie” to her eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Dottie worked hard all her life and was a natural leader. By 16, she was floor manager at a curtain factory, and she continued to inspire those who worked with her throughout her life. Her hardworking spirit helped her, not just in business ventures by her husband’s side, but in creating a loving home for her children. Dottie enjoyed traveling, playing tennis and winters in Florida. As a grandmother, Nannie excelled at making blanket forts, grilled cheese sandwiches under the iron, feeding everyone even when they weren’t hungry, and smothering her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with kisses until they laughed out loud.
After a long and eventful life, Dottie is back with her husband Bob, the love of her life and her parents. Although she will be missed by her loving family and beloved dog Abby, we will be remembering our mother and grandmother by sticking our tongues out in pictures, feeding everyone using the good plates, and putting our family first as she would have wanted.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice of Portsmouth RI. https://visitingnursehh.org/giving/
