Dorothy Karlsson Rovane passed away on December 23rd, 2019, at St. Elizabeth’s Home, in East Greenwich Rhode Island. She had been in their kind and loving care for some time, which was a great comfort to both her and her family. She was a Rhode Island native, born in Riverside on Aril 25th, 1932. After she graduated from East Providence High School, she left home and went to work as a secretary at the CIA in Washington D.C. where she met her husband, Donald Rovane. Subsequently she worked in banking. Always socially active, she held the post of Worthy Advisor in the International Order of Rainbow for Girls; and then later in life, she was an active participant in the Girl Scouts of America, the Republican Party, and Save the Bay (referring to Narragansett Bay). She was also an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Riverside, Rhode Island, until it was closed. She is survived by her sister Elisabeth Paulhus, her two daughters, Carol and Sally, her granddaughters, Angela Foster and Zarina Bilgrami, and her great granddaughter Lona Foster.
