Betty L. McKenzie

Betty Louise McKenzie, age 91, a lifelong resident of Riverside, RI, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022.  She was born to the late Henry C. and Gertrude N. Carpenter on December 5, 1930.  She is survived by her sister, Ruth Laborio of Lexington, KY.

She was the wife of the late John H. McKenzie and was the mother of Stephen R. McKenzie of Providence, RI, John A. McKenzie of Southport, NC and Virginia Melo of Riverside, RI and the late Donald H. McKenzie of Syracuse, IN and Kathy McKenzie of Riverside, RI.  She was the companion of Raymond Anderson of Riverside, RI for the past 22 years.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren. 

She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, roller skating, duckpin bowling, travel and boating.  She loved country music.  She was an avid collector of porcelain dolls, carousels, lighthouses, Santa’s and thimbles.  She was a Den Mother for several years.

Calling hours are Monday, August 8th at Smith Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Ave, Riverside, RI from 10:00 – 11:00 with a Memorial Service following at 11:00.
